Threat actors may acquire a Ground Segment, a Ground Station service (e.g. Amazon service ), satellite(s), or other infrastructure that can be useful to his attacking plans. Such an infrastructure can be a set of antennas, lasers, Software Defined Radios (SDR) or other equipment able to transmit the desired signals. Such equipment can be fixed on ground, mounted on vehicles like trucks, ships, aircraft, or also installed on board of satellites.
This type of attack technique cannot be easily mitigated with preventive controls since it is based on the abuse of system features.
